Google is Street Legal

A lawsuit filed against Google's Street View in a Pennsylvania District Court has been dismissed. I'm selfishly delighted. I love Street View. You can meander down country roads or stroll through the streets of Paris, New York and San Francisco all in one afternoon. Best of all are the small cities that are not widely photographed and that you only go to if you travel on business. I'm totally curious about small cities and you can see quite a lot of them with Street View. What's not to like? Well, actually I do get why some people wouldn't like it, but I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

    I've never really had a problem with the idea of street view. What I do have a problem with is the oft noted technical assessment that explains that, although Google does not use their equipment in 'telephoto' mode, they are capable of it. Basically, I don't like depending on Google's word that they won't look right into my window to see me eating breakfast in my robe.

    (Which is what you could see on my 'street view' if we didn't have the shutters closed the morning Google waltzed by.)

    Oh, you shouldn't have to give that away. Nope, a guy should get paid for a thing like that.
